‘Café at CMYK’, a unique place that celebrates the city of Delhi, through its decor and food.

Being an art & design bookstore, CMYK offers a range of quality illustrated and reference titles on art, architecture, design and travel to discerning customers. Backing the store is Roli Books, a leading independent publishing house based in Delhi, with a focus on publishing high-quality illustrated books on India, its art & heritage.

Recently, in December 2011, Roli Books celebrated 100 years of New Delhi as the Capital of India (instated in 1911), launched several books and organized an exhibition based on the history and emergence of Delhi as the capital city to commemorate this historic date. As an extension to this, Café at CMYK was launched to embrace the spirit of Delhi, and acquaint Delhi-ites as well as expats and tourists with the wonders of this city.

The Café décor walks us through a time when India was ruled by the British and through photographs and panoramas of the city on the walls as well as memorabilia, offers interesting trivia and facts about the culture and architectural history of New Delhi.

Delhi is famous for its street food, and at the Café, popular options such as Andaa Parantha, Tikki Chana and our very own Desi Chai are offered as comfort food for customers looking for a taste of familiar flavours with a modern twist.

As a bookstore café, we also want to offer our customers the convenience of browsing through books (you can pick from the many options on the history of Delhi, published by Roli Books), while nibbling on a wide range of wraps and rolls that carry flavor and character of Delhi.

Delhi as a city is known for its large-hearted, jolly residents who are adventurous with their food. With new restaurants and cafes in Delhi catering to a whole range of international cuisines, Café at CMYK wanted to introduce Delhi-ites to another kind of cuisine which they have little exposure to. Our Malaysian fare is exactly for those customers who have a taste for new things, and want to try everything!

Memorabilia

The Café also offers customers a chance to take back a little of the city with them through interesting products and memorabilia designed to commemorate New Delhi on completing 100 years. Colorful coasters, journals, stationery, wall prints, postcards and magnets are available for sale at CMYK. Carrying the architectural layouts of Lutyens Delhi, old maps and interesting trivia, these products make for both interesting gift options as well as personal reminders of your association with the city.
